We may have received broken units, but ours did not work AT ALL. The sound which is supposed to be coming through the speaker cannot be heard regardless of how close or far away the walkie talkies are from one another.

While this looks like a good toy the old phrase you get what you pay for.
The cords for the battery are very short.
The static makes it very hard to hear anything.
But again what can you say for under $20..
I will say it is a simple toy for kids. 1 button, 1 dial (on/off volume).
Plus they attach to each other.
So for under $20 to keep 2 kids playing cool.
To use for older kids.. Nope. spend more money.
