Just pitiful. My children got these today, and the range is PATHETIC. They have to stand facing each other about 2 paces apart. They were a gift so we won't be taking them back. I imagine that the batteries will go soon... they are using the paging feature like dueling Morse code. I would not recommend this toy.

Unfortunately, the sound of the person actually talking is louder than what comes through the set. These are horrible! My 3 yr old daughter got these as a Christmas gift & was so excited when we told her what they were. Only one works, but it has loud static coming out of it. So I have 2 walkie talkies that do nothing! My daughter was so dissapointed when she realized they didn't work. I am glad I didn't buy these, but if I did they would be going back! Plus there is no phone number to call so we're probably throwing them away...what a shame! Don't waste your money!!

I got these for my 4 year old son for Christmas 2009. His excitement soon turned to disappointment when he couldn't hear anything but static. Reception is kind of audible in the 2-3 foot range, but what fun is that? The kids want to talk to each other from around a corner of the house ~ at least. Forget talking on different floor levels.



But for $10 at Target, what did I really expect?

I was very excited for my son to open these on Christmas day. It said the range was up to 75 feet. That was not the case. If you weren't standing in the same room, they didn't work. You had to be within feet of each other! They were awful. There was a lot of static. These will be going back to the store.

Bought these at a local retail store and thought they would be great for my nephew...BOY WAS I WRONG! These are TERRIBLE!!!! I went to put the batteries in for Christmas so they would be ready and the 9v battery would not snap into connector! Not only that, the connector wasnt long enough! So it was impossible to connect the battery correctly in the first place. The battery sat snug enough where they would touch to turn on and operate. BUT....the static is soooo bad that you have to strain to hear the other person, and then you STILL had to try to hear over the static that remained! Needless to say, I took them back and got my money back! Dont waste your time or money on this product unless you want to turn around and take it back.

My two sons chose to combine their allowances to buy this as a shared toy--a nice gesture, I thought. Unfortunately, this was a total washout. The range seems to be about 15 feet (after that static overwhelms intelligibility), and limited to line-of-sight--even going slightly around a corner makes the message cut out. A complete waste; couldn't be more of a rip-off. I thought the Transformer folks would care at least a little about protecting the integrity of their brand, but I guess not.
